Information of AEFA to American Football in Spain

Mr. Fali Ascasibar, President of AEFA informed EFAF “that the Government of Spain has recognized on 17 May a new federation of american football as governing body of american football in Spain. This recognition implies that AEFA cannot organize the Spanish national football, so we can not officially compete in EJC 2013.” And “This is because we cannot legally compete as national Spanish junior team.”

As a consequence the right of participation in the qualification rounds of the EJC 2013 is shifted to the new governing body of American Football and legal successor of AEFA which is FEFA.

Update November 6, 2012:

At the Extraordinary EFAF General Assembly AEFA claimed to be still existing and being the relevant representation of Spain inside EFAF. The EFAF EGA granted the right to vote at the EGA to AEFA. Therefore it is not possible to shift the right of participation to FEFA.

Therefore AEFA has withdrawn by own decision the Spanish junior national team from the EJC 2013 tournament. The opponent of Span has a bye to the final tournament and is automatically qualified.
