The 5. EUROFLAG Seniors from 16th to 18th September 2011 will take place at Thonon-les-Bains in France. This is the second time for the French organization of LIRRAFA to host a championship tournament for the Flag Football community after the world championships in 2004.

The development of Flag Football proceeds steadily and we have now the largest field of participants on European level. In the men competition there will be the record of 11 teams and in the women competition there will be the record of 7 teams trying to end up with gold in their hands.

At the men’s there will participate all favorites like Denmark, Italy, Austria, Germany, Great Britain and France. Followed by the teams of Israel, Sweden and Switzerland, which will try to catch up with the favorites. Spain will be back after one time missing and Netherlands is new in the Seniors competition, but well known for their victories at the Juniors. There are expected very exciting games on the highest level.

At the women’s there will be the favorites Austria, Israel and France. The missing one is Finland, which unfortunately cannot attend. Germany and Sweden will be the teams tracking the favorites. Denmark and Italy will make their first appearance, but maybe good enough for upsetting another team. After the exceptional level of play in Belfast, it will be interesting how much increase is still possible.
