The first game of the EC B-Group tournament ended with a win by the Italian team against the national team of Spain. The Italians, coached by former University of Missouri star running back Brock Olivo, dominated the game from the very first minute. Touchdowns by Claudio Mangaro, Fabrizio Chiappini, Mario Andrioli, Giorgio Bruni, Enrico Leonardi and Jacopo Zampoirri sealed the win for the Italians. Spains only touchdown was scored by Nordi Ben Moussa seconds before halftime.

Brock Olivo, Head Coach Team Italy: “This was a very important win for us, we needed a good start of the tournament. Our next game will be on Tuesday against Austria, so that’s what we look forward to right now. I do think that we have chances against the Austrians, because on any given Sunday anything can happen.”

Aitor Trabado, Head Coach Team Spain: “We made too many mistakes today. The penalties killed us. I don’t feel like the Italians were that much better than us, they just made less mistakes. Throughout the next days have to practice and minimize our mistakes, because next Thursday we will play against Austria, which I expect to be even stronger.”
