Kiel expected Dutch champion Amsterdam Crusaders for the first game

On Saturday also the defending champion will start in the new season of the EFL. The Kiel Baltic Hurricanes meet the Amsterdam Crusaders in their first game. It is a real hard test for the north German team at 4 p.m. at the Kilia Stadium.

The team from the Dutch metropolis has not only completed all three games in the league of its own and got more match practice. The Crusaders are literally swept over their opponents like a hurricane.
First they beat the Rotterdam Trojans with 44-0, then Arnhem Falcons with 50-0 before they destroyed the Lightning Leiden, supported by the new US imports like quarterback Allan Bridgford, with 78-0 last weekend.

For Kiel it is, however, the first proper positioning of the season, because of the late start of the German Football League. However, this still seems to be no reason to worry for the Hurricanes. Head Coach Marcus Herford: "We are ready for the game and our guys are looking forward to the first encounter with an opponent. With Amsterdam, the currently most dominant team of the Netherlands is coming to us, so it is a big task for our young team."
Playing in their own league in the Netherlands, the national Champion has to show know, if the team is strong enough for higher duties in Europe again. The Eurobowl winner of 1991 and 1992 conceded last season two defeats in two games and is burning to make the next step back to the top. Everything seems prepared for a high class football game in the Kilia Stadium.
