STATEMENT IFAF PRESIDENT WIKING

Category: Organisation - published 2015-05-01 by IFAF

Dear American football community,

Despite a statement that was posted on ifaf.org website today I have not resigned, nor I have an intention to resign from IFAF President position. It is IFAF Congress that has supreme power regarding such decisions, not IFAF Executive Board. If there is will to challenge my position as IFAF President It can be done only during upcoming IFAF Congress that will take place in Canton, Ohio.

There are many big challenges in front of us. We succeeded in gaining IOC recognition. Now it is time for next milestones: IOC recognition approval, American football participation in World Beach Games, Asian Games, Pan-American Games, The World Games and ultimately Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Due to my health issues I will continue to stay on medical absence until end of May, as prescribed by my doctor. Nonetheless, I hope that IFAF objectives are far more important than personal aspirations and issues. Let’s keep on showing IFAF integrity and work hard on our ambitious goals.

Yours

Tommy Wiking
IFAF President
